Amanda Peterson

Amanda

Amanda graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science.  She has spent her career developing relationships in agriculture beginning with Feed Sales and Livestock Nutrition at Harvey Milling Company in Carson City, MI, and most recently as the Grain Merchandiser for Citizens LLC/Star of the West Milling Co. in Charlotte, MI. 

Amanda joined the FITC team in September 2023 and will be developing our grain merchandising business in Michigan, as well as assisting in feed ingredient trading throughout the region.  She currently lives with her husband in Coldwater, MI where she enjoys spending time on the lake, being a co-crew chief on a Sprint car team, and is a volunteer Medical First Responder for the local fire department.

Macon Alexander

Macon

Macon has been with FITC since 2020. Prior to joining the team, he traded for Southern States Cooperative for three years and Cargill for two and a half years handling mill procurement and direct to end user sales. His main focus is on trading cottonseed, gluten pellets, soy hull pellets, and ethanol and whiskey DDG in the Southeast.

Macon graduated from Virginia Tech in 2014 with a BS in Marketing Management and a minor in Ag Economics. He and his wife currently reside in the Richmond, VA area. Macon enjoys freshwater and saltwater fishing along with riding dirt bikes.

Daniel Demeree

Dan grew up on an Upstate NY dairy farm and joined the FITC team after 4 years of working for Consolidated Grain and Barge as merchandiser and facility manager in the Ohio Valley region of the Midwest. 

Dan is working to grow the grain business for the company as well as other opportunities.  Dan graduated from Cornell University in 2011 with a BS in Agricultural Science and minor in Business.  Dan enjoys playing sports and motorcycling when the weather offers the opportunity.

Joe Hodgson

Joe has been in the commodity trading business for over 25 years, after having held various other positions in the feed & grain industries. He began with FITC in 1995 and is primarily focused on merchandising cottonseed, oats, soy hulls and wheat midds.

Joe is FITC’s resident expert in truck transport and logistics. Joe’s regional emphasis is from New York south thru Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. Joe’s a 1970 Virginia Tech graduate. His son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren reside in North Carolina. He enjoys escaping to Florida to avoid the Northeast’s winters.

Kyle Laurie

Prior to joining the FITC in March of 2022, he managed a large ag logistics business in Vermont, with responsibility of 4 terminals and over 100 drivers, servicing the Vermont and New England area. Prior to that, Kyle was heavily involved with his family grain and maple sugaring operations.

Kyle merchandises an array of agricultural commodities, including distillers grains, soyhulls and wheat midds. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Potsdam State University.  Kyle currently lives in St. Albans, VT.  He enjoys staying active outside, plays a lot of golf and enjoys traveling.

Greg McCulloch

Greg has been a shareholder at FITC since 2013, becoming the majority shareholder in 2019. Prior to FITC, he was an equity trader at Broadway Trading in New York, NY.

Greg has a M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University at Albany. Outside the office, he enjoys lacrosse, snowboarding and mountain biking.

Hillary Morris

Hillary started with FITC in early 2022. Prior to joining the team, she managed the feed division of the Augusta Cooperative in Virginia for three years, where she handled ingredient procurement, personnel management, and feed production. She also served there as an equine specialist for three years.  Her focus at FITC is a variety of commodities, including soy hulls, distillers, and cottonseed in the Southeast. 

Hillary has spent most of her life involved in the agriculture/animal industry, having held positions at mixed animal veterinary practices and raising cattle, sheep, and horses with her family. She attended Emory and Henry College in Virginia. Hillary and her husband have two sons and a small farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where they raise beef cattle. Outside of work, she enjoys running, riding horses, and time spent with her boys and attempting to keep up with their busy schedule of activities.

Mike O’Meara

Mike has been with FITC since 2007. Immediately prior, Mike was Operations Manager for one of the region’s largest Home Depot stores where he was responsible for 65% of the store’s sales and managing 150 employees.

For FITC, he focuses on the canola meal, beet pulp, and citrus pulp markets, in addition to managing rail logistics. Mike also handles the purchasing for one of FITC’s largest dedicated accounts. Mike graduated in 1997 with a BS in Business Management from Canisius College. He is married with two daughters and one son.

Chris Pierpont

Chis has been a shareholder at FITC since 2019. Chris came to FITC from Lansing Trade Group with 8 years experience of trading, most of which was with Interstate Commodities.

He trades many different feed ingredients including distillers grains,
cottonseed and wheat midds.  Chris has a B.A. degree in communications
from Quinnipiac University.  He likes to stay active playing golf in the
summer and skiing in the winter and also loves to travel.  Chris is from
Niskayuna, NY and currently resides in Albany, NY.

Mike Smith

Mike has been with FITC for 5 years. His primary trading focus are in the areas of wheat midds and bakery by-product.

He also spearheads the purchasing for one of the company’s six “dedicated” accounts. Prior to FITC, Mike spent 2 years at R.E.G., originally part of West Central Coop. He also had 21 years of tenure at Blue Seal Feeds where he advanced to the position of Executive Vice President with responsibility for 9 feed mills, 11 retail stores, and the oversight of the purchase of over 600,000 tons of feed ingredients annually. Before Blue Seal, Mike spent 7 years trading at Pillsbury. Mike is married with two daughters. Mike enjoys brewing his own beer at home and loves trips to Maine.
